      Senior Product Writer

      Remote UK

      We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Product Writer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to enhance the education, training, and documentation of our platform, helping guide new customers onboard and explain new features to existing users.

      As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with product management, design and marketing, to create compelling product documentation, enhance our UX with intuitive and engaging writing, and develop an outstanding educational journey for our customers.


      Key Responsibilities

      • Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic plan to make documentation a core part of our product. To drive customer education, training, and documentation initiatives to improve the overall experience of Avantra.
      • Product Documentation: Work closely with product management to maintain our existing product documentation and knowledge base. To keep it up-to-date and accessible. This includes creating clear, concise, and accurate guides, help articles, and technical how-to’s that align with our product's functionality and user needs. As well as updating and reworking existing documentation structures to make it easy for our users to find the information they need as our product grows.
      • UX Writing: Collaborate with our product designers to craft UX copy that enhances user engagement and guides users through our platform seamlessly. Your writing should embody our brand's voice, ensuring consistency across all product interfaces.
      • Customer Education: Work with our customer office and marketing teams to design and implement an engaging education journey for both new customers and existing customers adapting to new features. Building on the great success we have had with in-personal training events and youtube tutorial videos, with new and innovative educational materials that drive customer success and product adoption.
      • Feedback Loop: Act as a bridge between our users and the product team by gathering and incorporating user feedback into our documentation and educational materials to continuously improve user experience.

      Skills & Requirements

      • Proven experience as a senior writer and content creator, in the technology or software industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work in product documentation, UX writing, and customer education or relevant other experience.

      • Experienced in creating and delivering on a customer education and product documentation strategy.

      • Excellent command of the English language, with an ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, understandable manner.

      • Experience working closely with product management and design teams, with a knack for translating product features into explainable guides for users.

      • A strategic thinker with an understanding of how content supports user experience and product adoption.

      • Select the appropriate medium to communicate a concept to our audience and either create or engage with marketing to create photographs, drawings, diagrams, animations, videos and charts that increase users’ understanding.

      • Our product is a technical platform for technical users so a familiarity with SAP, SAP Operations, IT system management and similar technologies is highly desirable. You don’t need to be an engineer but an understanding of the technicalities would be useful.

      • Our current product documentation toolchain consists of several SaaS solutions and an Antora playbook written in ASCIDoc and stored in Bitbucket/GIT. Familiarity with this or similar products and processes would be very useful!

      • Experience with Learning Management Systems or similar technologies would be useful.
